This is a photo of what is probably the 1st "2004" model Yamaha FJR1300 with ABS to be delivered in North America. It was delivered into the hands of its new Canadian owner in Vancouver, B.C. on July 11th, 2003.
As you can see, the bike was built in June of 2003. Last year, the first FJRs imported to N.A. were also built in June, and coincidently, the first one was delivered on July 11th or 12th (in the USA).
My guess, based upon last year's experience, is that the folks who completed and sent in their PDP paperwork in the first weeks of the program will be receiving their bikes in the 2nd half of July, and into early August. But that's just a guess...
Based upon my orders/deliveries page, and comparing that to last year, I'd guess that Yamaha has sold about the same number this year as they did last year. If that's true, and if the similarities in timing continue to parallel last year, the bikes ordered in the last days of the PDP program will likely not be delivered until Nov/Dec -- however, we don't know exactly how big an impact last year's dockworkers strike had on FJR deliveries, so that may be a pessimistic estimate.
